What factors determine the capacitance of a capacitor?
What factors determine the capacitance of a capacitor?
Distance between the plates and the dielectric constant of the material between the plates.
The capacitance, measured in Farads depends on:
\[\frac{\text{ ℇ A }}{\text{ d}} = \text{ Capacitance, in F }\]
A - an area the plates are in the same space, could touch
ℇ - it is the dielectric's permittivity
d - a distance between the plates
C - is the capacitance, measured in Farads

In Figure 3C4, which component (labeled 1 through 4) is used to provide a signal ground?
In Figure 3C4, which component (labeled 1 through 4) is used to provide a signal ground?
2
sammylandler:
Option number 2 on this diagram is correct because it is located next to the ground schematic symbol.

In Figure 3C5, the 1 μF capacitor is connected to a potentiometer that is used to:
Adjust tone.
It is connected to an adjustable resistors, so it adjusts the tone.

What is the purpose of a coupling capacitor?
What is the purpose of a coupling capacitor?
It blocks direct current and passes alternating current.
From wp2ahg:
A coupling capacitor connects two circuits. The capacitor allows only AC to pass, and DC is blocked.
See Wikipedia's article Capacitive coupling
